Description
Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is part of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and it's about a 2 hour drive from Austin, texas. It is located between Fredericksburg and Llano in the heart of the Hill Country.
This was not something I expected to find on top of Enchanted Rock. From the ground, the whole thing looks like a big, round granite rock because that's what it is. As you are climbing it, that is about all you encounter on the way up, mostly what appears to be one huge rock, with some cracks here and there and a few other rocks laying around. But on top, some vegetation has grown in those cracks. It is mostly cactus and a few trees and some grass. This particular area on the west side of the top of the dome had cracks with quite a bit of cactus and trees growing that formed this cool little pathway that grabbed my attention. I thought it was interesting considering the location. It seemed a bit out of place up there. The sun peeking from behind the trees gave it a nice touch.
