Lake Sunset in the Wichita Mountains
A beautiful sunset behind the mountains reflecting in this small lake in the Wichita Mountains in southwest Oklahoma. There are 13 lakes in the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge. Lake Jed Johnson is the third largest of them. The mountains partially surround the lake here and make for an awesome backdrop.
This particular evening, the sky was definitely showing off for me! I had stopped by here a few times while I was in the area and knew I had to come back here during a sunset. I was here the evening before but it was raining. But more on that later.
The city of Lawton, Oklahoma is only 15 minutes from this location. If I lived there, I would probably be out here every evening.
