Artist's Description
Horseshoe Bend
Located in Northern Arizona, about five miles downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell, within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, about four miles southwest of Page. Locally known as King Bend. It is just north of the Grand Canyon National Park and many people travelling to see the Grand Canyon include this as a main destination.
An interesting fact I learned: The only petroglyph panel available for the public to see
in Glen Canyon below the dam is located here, made by the Ancestral Puebloans (called by
some “Anasazi”) over 800 years ago.
The overlook where I shot this photo is 1000 feet above the river below.
