I think if being a jerk was the criteria for banning then everyone at some point or another would be banned. Lol!

The way the art world works claiming it as a form of art would mostly garner a great deal of positive publicity.

Mike Savad

no... its not art. its vandalism

Mike Savad

12:42:14 PM

just like graffiti, if you don't want it, then its not art. i think many people were banned for one reason or another. but its the length of time that seems totally random, that's the problem for me. 1 day for one person, 1 week for the next, depending who is in charge.

Ronald Walker

12:43:22 PM

Might be true Mike but many graffiti artist have used the claim of art and have become well known after the fact. Performance art is well established, and can take on a huge variety of forms.

My own ban is a bit funny since with the new policy I could not commit the infraction, if there are no trolls on the site then I cannot talk to any trolls.

Ronald Walker

12:48:20 PM

I question the concept of if you don't want it then it is not art.

Mario Carta

12:54:43 PM

Mike you might have a valid opinion but as far as legal definition of vandalism you have nothing. Kind of like when people say he threatened me, if the elements of the crime is not there it 's not a legal threat, even if you think it was. It's all subjective as far as what is art or not, not legally binding in any way, plus I think many found it to be art.

Imagine what a good lawyer good come up with in defense, it would be a nightmare for the accusing lawyer.

Mike Savad

1:00:56 PM

its subject to the owner of the site. i can't imagine how the troll's lawyer will come up with a valid reason for his client to come into the same forum and repeatably annoy, attack, troll and otherwise. i can't imagine them calling it an art, it would be related to a harassment charge, where you can't prove damages, but its still harassment.

Mario Carta

1:04:25 PM

Mike, the owner of the site has made a free forum and just because you don't like what the person who opened the free account says especially if it 's art related does not make it a crime, not here not even in China or North Korea.

Mario Carta

1:05:17 PM

It's a forum and you will have clashing concepts, that's really all that is at steak here.

Mario Carta

1:06:34 PM

What you call troll is just a personal choice of communication and style for the other person.

Mario Carta

1:11:20 PM

Look at it this way Mike, there are members in the forum that have taken positions and voiced opinions that I disliked, found annoying and thought were attacking, yet none of it qualifies as meeting any standard of law breaking, not even in your wildest dreams. The same goes for the troll or trolls. Is their such a law as trolling? I think not, trolling may be enforced if you are on a waterway and don't have a fishing licence, all you get is a ticket.

Ronald Walker

1:11:47 PM

I don't think it would be hard to claim it as art, wanted or not. If the person can show that prior to the troll attacks they were an artist then it could easily be help up as some type of performance art. The big question that would make this interesting would be, Is making art illegal in some circumstances? Think I might start that as a thread once my ban ends, which is tonight.

Good point Ronald, Reminds me of a incident in a Paris Museum where a painting of a nude woman showing her vagina was being featured. The woman portrayed in the painting showed up at the museum and sat on the floor next to the painting showing her vagina and it created an uproar in the museum.

Mario Carta

1:16:53 PM

Ronald that is a thread I will read, though I can't comment on.
